Watermark at the source
Apply a watermark after generation and before publication. Associate its ID with the model version, output ID and other generation context your platform chooses to retain.
Separate the identifier from the history
The watermark contains a digest, not a readable prompt or a complete creation history. Store the corresponding records in your own system. Prefer opaque references rather than personal information in your payload.
Recover a connection, not a verdict
Detection looks for an embedded identifier. It is not a general-purpose AI-image classifier. Unmarked images and watermarks that can no longer be recovered cannot be assigned an origin through this workflow.
Use provenance as one layer
Combine the recovered reference with your records and other verification methods. Etchv’s current implementation does not issue C2PA Content Credentials or establish that an image is authentic, unedited or legally owned by a particular party.
