Connect each copy to a delivery
Use a different data payload for each recipient or delivery. Etchv embeds a digest of that payload and returns a watermark ID. Your platform stores the ID alongside the appropriate record before distributing the watermarked PNG.
Start an investigation with an identifier
When you obtain a suspected copy, submit it to the detection endpoint. A recovered ID can be matched against your delivery records. A failed detection does not establish that the image was never watermarked.
Keep conclusions proportionate to the evidence
A match can point to an original delivery. It cannot independently establish who redistributed the content or why. Consider account compromise, authorized onward sharing and other evidence before taking action.
Fit the controls to your workflow
Watermarking complements access permissions, licensing and secure delivery. It does not prevent screenshots, block downloads or continuously search the internet for copies. Evaluate your actual images and transformations before production use.
